What is the sound of one needle knitting?

Has this happened to you?

Knit knit knit knit knit knit knit -measure-.  Sigh.  Knit knit knit knit knit knit knit knit knit knit knit knit knit -measure-.  Sigh.  Knit knit knit -measure-. Groan.  Knit knit knit knit  knit knit doze knit knit knit -measure-.  Smile.   Block.  AUGH!

Translation: for days you knit and it never seems to get any longer.  Finally you get it to the desired length.  Then you block it.  Then it’s 5 inches too long!

The knitting goddesses laugh in my general direction.

Well, with that out of the way, I should embark on Swatch 18 – the “fix the cable flare problem” swatch.  I’m not sure how nitpicky I’m supposed to be about recording my stitch gauge – can I call 6.15 sts/inch “6”?  Hope so.  My excuse for procrastinating is that I used the needles that I swatched on for the cable swatch for the above Magically Growing blanket strip.  I shall now Tame Cables!  (Just give me a tiny chair and a whip).  Wish me luck.  Cross your fingers (and your cables!).

About The International Knitter of Mystery

If I told you about me, I wouldn't be The International Knitter of MYSTERY, now would I? But I can tell you that "Danger" is my middle name.
