A Glimpse of Comfort

This arrived in my mailbox today.  It’s a skein of Three Irish Girls McClellan Fingering in the colorway Glimpse.  This is a very special colorway.  The amazing Sharon the Yarnista created this colorway in honor of a mutual online friend who recently lost her unborn baby.  Proceeds from the sale of this colorway were donated to Share, a nonprofit organization that offers support and resources for families who have lost babies.  You can read about it here (as well as see more and better photos of the colorway) and here you can see the amazing sight of over 500 skeins drying.

You can see the product page here, but this was a limited time offering, so unfortunately you can’t order it anymore.  Perhaps cruel of me to point it out now, then, but it was certainly for a good cause.

Even though you can’t buy Glimpse anymore, you can check out the incredibly awesome hand-dyed offerings of Three Irish Girls.  Check out the “Lookbook” and you won’t be sorry (well, your bank account might be).  In addition to her website, her yarns are available at multiple online retailers.  And she runs several different yarn clubs!  Very dangerous, I know.  Go, now, and be amazed.

About The International Knitter of Mystery

If I told you about me, I wouldn't be The International Knitter of MYSTERY, now would I? But I can tell you that "Danger" is my middle name.

Gosh, it’s gorgeous. It’s a shame that it was inspired by something so sad.
